The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taylor at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Supervisor Badger was absent.
Motion by Caughlan to approve the minutes of the October 11,1999, meeting as read. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Caughlan to accept the October, 1999, treasurers report as presented. Carried - unanimous
Motion by Caughlan to pay all November bills presented for payment by the clerk. Carried - unanimous
Jeff Miller of Widseth, Smith, and Nolting presented the Donaldson Isle preliminary plat to the Board. The plat showed the roads to be 20 to 30 feet in width, not meeting minimal Township requirements. Miller was asked to indicate this on the plat. The Ideal Fire Chief stated he had made an on-site inspection and felt that emergency services would not be affected by the roads.
Motion by Taylor to write a letter to Crow Wing County Planning indicating no objection to the plat as presented. Carried - unanimous
The road and bridge report was as follows:
- A floor jack was purchased to assist in changeing plow edges.
- There were no safety incidents.
The fire department report was as follows:
- The rescue boat will be stored in cold storage for 3 months.
- The Department plans to change the locks on all but 3 doors of the Town building complex.
- Would like to purchase 1 set of turnout gear. ($950.00)
- There were 2 fire runs the revious month.
- There has been no safety incidents.
Motion by Taylor to purchase 1 set of turnout gear for approximately $950.00. Carried - unanimous
It was reported that the electrical outlets have been repaired in the picnic pavillion.
The Winnamakee Shores Rd. turn around was discussed. Resident Bob Bainbridge believes a 33' private easement exists on the property the Town plans to obtain. The clerk was asked to check on this. A problem of a tie and a sign placed on the edge of the tar was discussed as it was felt they could hinder snowplowing. Bainbridge will tryto accomodate plowing by moving the sign and/or the tie.
Caughlan reported that the metal collected at the recycling center had been baled and removed. The year 2000 permits for the transfer station will be ready to be sold starting in December.
Taylor reported on a North County transportation meeting he had attended. 58 counties in Minnesota already have some form of public transportation. This meeting was informational only and other meetings will be forthcoming.
The clerk reported he had received the commercial insurance package for 11/99 to 11/00. The premium will be $7,684.00.
Fire Chief Schults reported that the department Christmas Party will be held on December 17, 1999, 6:00 P.M., at Piney Ridge. The Board is invited to attend.
There being no further Township business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 8:25 P.M.
