The township has accomplished much during 2009. Thanks to all who helped get these projects done for the community.
Fire Department::
- New pumper/tanker truck purchased & received.
- Paved Station 2 parking area & helicopter landing pad.
- Activated fire boat stationed on middle Whitefish Lake.
Transfer Station::
- Updated Transfer Station Disposal Guide for 2010. Available for download or pickup at transfer station.
- Established Transfer Station Log form to increase control of station revenue and to increase data collection to facilitate future planning.
- Continued effort to eliminate visitors/loitering.
Roads::
- Completed two miles of road paving & crack sealing
- Maintenance building landscaping completed for open house.
- Maintenance building air exchange system installed to mitigate moisture.
Parks & Recreation::
- Installed Paul Bunyan Footprints in cooperation with the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway.
Miscellaneous::
- Completed FY2009 with budget surplus.
- Annexation/incorporation committee meetings held.
- Continued evaluation of public facility upgrade requirements for new Boyd Lodge development.
- Received a $5000 grant for Rollie Johnson Island erosion control project for Big Island.
- Began website upgrade that will provide improved functionality for township staff and residents.
- No Safety incidents or injuries.
- Successful audit with no major issues.
- Successful General Election with high turn out and no issues.
- Investigated and commented on all requested planning & zoning variances and rezoning requests.
