In order to provide better response to winter road conditions in  Ideal Township, the board has purchased a new plow truck. The 2011  International 7400 is a fully-equipped demo model obtained via the state’s  purchasing agreement.

The board has a long-term plan to keep road &  maintenance equipment up-to-date for the most reliable and low-cost operation,  and a new plow truck was planned for previous years. When this truck became  available, the board took action to buy when the price & financing was  favorable and there was a ready buyer for the old truck. This new truck is one  the last available before new emission-control & other regulations would  have increased the price for a truck that meets our needed  specifications.

Residents often comment showing appreciation for the  rapid & thorough response to snowfalls getting the township roads cleared  and ready for safe travel. This new truck is one more step the board has taken  to assure that service is not compromised due to unreliable  equipment.
