Groundbreaking - Retired Fire Truck Display Project

A group of local citizens, township officers and firemen gathered recently to mark a groundbreaking for a new addition to the Ideal Park. The active & retired firemen, led by Dave Badger, have proposed a building to house and display the fire department's 1949 Pumper Truck and other historical items from the fire department's 35 years of service to the community.

Road crew puts new truck to work

In order to provide better response to winter road conditions in  Ideal Township, the board has purchased a new plow truck. The 2011  International 7400 is a fully-equipped demo model obtained via the state’s  purchasing agreement.

Composting at the Transfer Station

The Maintenance Crew has recently processed some of the compost and added to the pile of finished soil.

If anyone needs good rich composted soil for their yard or garden, now is a good time to get some from the Transfer Station.

Small amounts only, please. No bobcats or tractors allowed.

Pedestrian Crosswalk

Many events are held in the hall & park - especially during the summer months - and that means there is often pedestrian traffic crossing the road. To enhance safety for both pedestrians and motorists, the board has installed a crosswalk across Butternut Point Road.
